AT THE FINAL prescon of "Northern Lights: A Journey to Love", hosted by Mother Lily Monteverde at Regal’s Valencia Events Place, Piolo Pascual couldn’t help but become emotional and cried while Mother Lily paid tribute to him in her welcome speech. “I want to share with you my personal journey with my good friend Piolo Pascual,” says Madera. “The first time I met Papa P, I knew he was special. Not only do I find him to be a brilliant actor, but also a diligent one as well. His eyes speak of sincerity, his heart is full of compassion for others. Right there and then, I thought this guy would go a long way in his career.
"And I was right. 14 years ago, he did ‘I Think I’m in Love’ with us. Now, 14 years later, he did ‘Northern Lights’ and it’s an answered prayer. Our common love and passion for the art led him to a new journey back to Mother Lily and Regal. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Papa P. I am overjoyed.
"A very generous man, on the last shooting day of ‘Northern Lights’, he shared his talent fee with the staff and crew. Nag-iyakan ang mga taga-production and they love him to death now. As for me and my family, we love you too, Papa P. We will support you all the way!”
Piolo wiped his tears first before making a reply: “Sorry I got emotional. Bata pa ako, I’ve been watching na the movies of Regal and I know that Mother Lily and I share the same passion for making movies. It now feels so good that I did ‘Northern Lights’ for Regal and we all worked so hard to come up with a movie like this. We should all be grateful to Mother Lily for what she has been doing for us all these years, for her passion to make movies and pure entertainment.”
'Northern Lights' was shot on locaton in New Zealand and opens this Wednesday in theaters nationwide.
