What's The Exact Meaning Of 'Pwera Usog'? Regal Exec Roselle Monteverde Explains The Title Of Their New Horror Movie That Opens On March 8

ROSELLE MONTEVERDE explains what the word “usog” means exactly since young people are not familiar with it. “Akala kasi ng iba, it means to move, as in umusog ka nga,” she says. “But usog is actually a superstitious belief where a stranger makes bati to a baby and yung bata raw, mauusog kaya sinasabi agad ng parent, ‘Pwera usog ha’. So para hindi magkasakit, kailangang lawayan nung bumati yung baby. When you see the movie ‘Pwera Usog’, makikita nyo ang ibig sabihin noon in the story.”

Regal Entertainment has made many hit horror flicks like the “Shake Rattle & Roll” franchise, “Sigaw” (which was remade in Hollywood as “The Echo”), “Haunted Mansion”, and others. “Pero iba itong ‘Pwera Usog’ kasi hindi ito basta about multo or monsters. May touches of action and comedy siya. Gugulatin kayo, you’ll be scared, pero may laughter ding kasama. And we’re so proud of our young cast na ngayon lang napagsama-sama in a movie, sina Joseph Marco, Sofia Andres,

Kiko Estrada, Devon Seron, Albie Casino and Cherise Castro, at kasama rin sina Aiko Melendez and Eula Valdes. Lahat sila, ginalingan, hinusayan. So don’t miss it when it opens this Wednesday, March 8.”
