THE KIMERALD love team is back together again and the chemistry of their tandem remains very strong. “May magic at kilig pa rin,” as one writer says after watching the trailer of their new show, “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin”, where they both play triathletes with athletic and toned bodies, the product of diligent and regular workouts in the gym.
“We really trained hard for our roles, doing a lot of running, swimming and cycling na siyang ginagawa sa triathlons,” says Kim who just turned 27 last April 19. “Hindi naman magiging credible na triathlete ako kung lalampa-lampa ako. After ten years in showbiz since we met in PBB Teens, I’d say this is our most mature role ni Gerald to date. I play Bianca, a girl na maliit pa, magaling at mabilis na sa takbuhan. I meet si Gerald noong kids pa kami. He saves me nang muntik na akong malunod. Naging good friends kami pero nagkahiwalay nang lumipat ang family namin sa siyudad.
When I grew up, I met si Jake Cuenca, who encouraged me to compete sa triathlon. Then, Gerald and I would meet again at magiging love triangle ito involving kami nina Jake, Gerald and me. I really enjoyed doing this show kasi marami akong natutuhan about sports, like natuto pa akong mag-bungee jumping at mountain climbing. I’ve never felt more physically fit in my life.”
We don’t think it would be credible for them to be linked anew since it’s common knowledge that Gerald is now playing beautiful music with Bea Alonzo. “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin” is produced by DreamScape and directed by Dan Villegas. Supporting Kim and Gerald are Gina Pareno as Gerald’s lola, Dante Rivero as Kim’s dad, Coleen Garcia as Jake’s other love interest, and Michael de Mesa as Jake’s dad. Aside from this, Kim is busy shooting two new movies, ‘Bagahe’, an entry in the next Cinemalaya Filmfest and ‘The Ghost Bride’, a horror flick for Director Chito Rono.
