TOO BAD for Aljur Abrenica that no one seems to side with him after GMA-7 decided not to renew his contract with them anymore. Most people say "Good riddance" to him. We cannot blame GMA Management if they decided not to take the option to renew their contract with him.
In their official statement regarding this matter, they made it clear that they supported Aljur all the way ever since he won as one of the Ultimate Survivors of Starstruck 4 (the other one was Martin Escudero who also chose to left GMA and whose career is now neither here nor there.) They said: “GMA Artist Center has not been remiss in its duties as his manager, practising a consultative style of management with Aljur. With his best interest in mind, this practice has accorded him every opportunity to personally assess all offers to reach a mutual agreement. GMA Network has equally given him projects, some of which were lead roles in the Network’s primetime programs."
Aljur even chose to sue the network at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court like a rebellious prodigal soon so he can be released by them. Still, the network continued to give him projects after that, like good roles in "The Half Sisters", "Dangwa" and "Once Again". But it is the people who have lost their interest in Aljur for being such an ingrate. His career really took a nosedive after his personal shenanigans against the Kapuso network. Now, will ABS-CBN pick him up like what he has been dreaming of since then?
Let's see. Maybe a really resourceful manager will also be interested him and succeed in giving his currently dormant career the boost it badly needs. But whatever setbacks he is experiencing now, he brought it all upon himself.
Too bad that this came at a time when broadcaster Kaye Dacer revealed that he still owes her more than P1 million as balance for the payment on the house he bought from her. At this point, people are actually more worried about Kylie Padilla, who's currently 5-months pregnant with Aljur's child and is also jobless like Aljur. What will happen to her and their innocent child?
Aljur celebrated his 27th birthday on March 27. With him jobless and with his last movie on which he's banking on so much, "Hermano Puli", being a certified flop, it must've been Aljur's saddest birthday. Since it's Holy Week soon, Aljur should really do a lot of soul searching to determine where he did wrong in running his own career.
