CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA is happy to play the role of the rich and happy go lucky Winston Libredo in the Pinoy adaptation of the Korean hit, “My Love from the Star” that starts airing tomorrow on GMA-7 after “Mulawin Vs. Ravena”.
“Napanood ko yun the first time the original was shown on GMA-7 and I really like the show and how the story was developed,” he says. “So when I learned na kasama ko sa Tagalog version, at maganda pa yung role ko, I was really glad and excited. Super rich ang family namin dito. Kababata ko rito at long time friend si Steffi Chavez, the role played by Jennylyn Mercado. In love ako sa kanya at kaya kong ipasara ang buong Enchanted Kingdom just to please her, but she does not reciprocate it. Yun na nga, money can’t buy you love. Ang may gusto sa’kin dito, si Jackie Rice na best friend ni Jen, pero hindi ko naman gusto. Brother ko si Gabby Eigenmann na gusto namang makamkam ang lahat ng kayamanan ng family namin.”
So how is it working with Jennylyn and Jackie? “Masarap. Parehong okay katrabaho sa set kasi they
both take their craft seriously. Si Jen, nakasama ko na before sa concerts. We got to sing together. Pero siempre, iba itong ‘My Love from the Star’, kasi uma-acting kami rito. And I learn so much from her about acting, lalo sa character niyang carefree and kikay.”
How about Jen’s new leading man, Gil Cuerva? “Magiging love triangle kami rito nina Jen. He works hard. He knows how to grab the opportunity that knocked on his door and he also knows the risks, so he’s really doing his best para magampanan nang tama ang character niya as an alien na napadpad dito sa earth.”
