Bela Padilla Takes A Break From Teleseryes After 'My Dear Heart' To Try Working Off Cam As Writer And Later, As Director

BELA PADILLA is taking a break from doing teleseryes after “My Dear Heart” that will have its final telecast tonight, to be replaced by “La Luna Sangre” on Monday. “I will focus muna on working behind the camera,” she says. “But I will never forget ‘My Dear Heart’ kasi I really enjoyed doing it dahil we have become a real family ng co-stars ko tuwing may taping. Sabay-sabay kaming kumain, at laging maraming pagkain, maraming kuwentuhan. During breaks, nasa isang area lang kami lahat. I am very thankful din for this soap. Kasi, ‘yung character ko rito, ibang-iba from what I did sa ‘Ang Probinsyano’.”

Bela has helped in writing the stories of two films, ‘Camp Sawi’ and ‘Luck at First Sight’. Now, she’s the solo writer of the movie that Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga are currently shooting under the direction of Joyce Bernal. “I’m so happy na nagustuhan nila yung script ko sa first draft pa lang,” she beams. “Nagbunga yung pag-aaral ko ng scriptwriting. Eventually, I dream of being a film director myself. Maga-apprentice muna ko sa mga kilalang directors para magkaroon ako ng proper training.”
This dream to be a filmmaker is the reason why she’d rather remain unattached even if she’s currently being linked to “My Dear Heart” leading man Zanjoe Marudo.

“I want to pursue my dream muna at mahirap matupad ang mga plano ko kung hahaluan ng lovelife which can be time-consuming. Anyway, love can wait naman at darating din yan in the right time. Meantime, don’t miss the finale of “My Dear Heart’ tonight dahil tiyak na masisiyahan kayo sa ending ng story nitong sinubaybayan nyo for six months.”
