Does Winning The FHM Sexiest Woman Title Really Help Boost The Career & Popularity Of An Actress?

WE DON’T KNOW why some folks are all agog about the FHM List of Sexiest Women. Nadine Lustre is currently leading the list of candidates and last year’s winner Jessy Mendiola has been kicked out of the top ten list. But does being FHM’s Sexiest Woman really and seriously help boost the career and popularity of an actress?

To be honest, we doubt it. Jessy won last year but the movie she did with Star Cinema after winning the title, “Extra Service”, was a dismal flop. She’s been missing in action since then with no regular soap and she’s her only claim to fame now and she's being talked about only because of her relationship with Luis Manzano.

Sam Pinto won the title twice in a row, 2011 and 2012, but pray, tell us, do you think her two consecutive wins genuinely helped boost her career, giving her more assignments and making her a bigger star?

Both Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin won the title twice. Marian in 2013 and 2014. Angel in 2005 and 2010. But at the time they won their titles, they are both still in the peak of their respective showbiz careers.

Another actress who won the title twice was Katrina Halili, who won it in 2006 and 2007. Maybe it could have really helped make her career soar, but then came the sex scandal that nearly ruined everything for her. Cristine Reyes won it in 2009, but her career now is neither here nor there, with her last seen as a reality game show contestant who last to a gay rival.

Jennylyn Mercado won the title in 2015, but we cannot say it helped her as she’s already very popular when she won, because her career is really doing so well with hit Metro filmfest movies that gave her best actress awards and hit TV shows.

So if Nadine would truly be so fortunate and bag the title this year, what do you think? Will it help revive the sagging popularity of her love team with James Reid which is said to be badly affected by a meddlesome parent? Your guess is as good as ours.
