TOM RODRIGUEZ continues to grieve for his dad who lost the battle with the big C just a couple of months ago. “It’s hard kasi the more na gusto mong alisin sa isip mo what happened to your loved one, mas lalo mong naiisip,” he says. “Madali lang sabihin na move on na, but you can’t do it nang basta-basta. It's easier said than done. There are stages of grieving na dapat mong pagdaanan talaga. I was really close to my late dad kaya it will definitely take some time before I can get over doon sa sad feelings of loss ko.”
Being busy with work helps takes his mind away from his feelings of sadness. He’s now busy with “I Heart Davao” that will replace ‘Meant to Be’ starting on Monday. For a while, he also taped for ‘Mulawin Vs. Ravena’. “Pero pinatay na yung character ko roon kaya hindi na ako babalik,” he says. “It’s Carla Abellana, who plays my wife, na siyang babalik pa roon to be with our daughter, Anya, played by Bea Binene.”
In “I Heart Davao”, he’s glad to be working with Carla again. “Napaka-supportive ni Carla and I’m
thankful kasi alam niyang may pinagdaraanan ako. She’s always there to cheer me up. Nakatulong ding we shoot our show on location in Davao. We both fell in love with the place. Maraming magagandang scenic spots and the people are all so warm and nice kaya nag-enjoy kami talaga working there.”
Soon, Tom will also start shooting a new movie for a big company where he will reprise his role in “My Husband’s Lover”, with a big name actress playing the role of his wife, but he’s not allowed yet to reveal the details of the production.
