“When we did the pictorial for Yes, I didn’t know kami ang nasa cover,” says Kathniel. “Kasi nga, I already made it before at akala ko, once lang pwede. But now that I’m sharing the cover with Daniel, mas malaking bagay yun and I’m very thankful to Yes talaga.”
Last year, the Yes Most Beautiful special issue’s cover was the AlDub love team and editor in chief Joann Maglipon says it’s their best selling issue so far. Let’s see if KathNiel can top that.
At the proclamation for this year’s Most Beautiful Stars, it’s very noticeable that Kapamilya stars seem to have boycotted the affair. Someone said it must be because ABS-CBN has its own magazine that is a rival of Yes, Star Studio.
Most of the stars who graced the occasion are from GMA-7, including Barbie Forteza, Sunshine Dizon, Kris Bernal, Andrea Torres, Benjamin Alves, Ruru Madrid, Sanya Lopez, Rocco Nacino, TJ Trinidad, Jak Roberto, Gil Cuerva, Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Glaiza de Castro, Gabby Eigenmann, Kim Domingo, Taki Saito, LJ Reyes, Andre Paras, Mikah de la Cruz, Baeby Baste, Inah de Belen, Jak Roberto, Kate Valdez and Mikee Quintos.
Among the ABS-CBN stars who came, the first to arrive was JC Santos, then Tirso Cruz III and wife Lyn Ynchausti, Albie Casino, Dominic Roque, Devon Seron and Alex Medina and his brothers Karl, Ping and Victor.
As usual, the list is broken into various categories. On the top would be the Prized Stars that include Bea Alonzo, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Dennis Trillo, Toni Gonzaga, Jericho Rosales, Jennylyn Mercado, Anne Curtis, Angel Locsin, Derek Ramsay, Kim Chiu and Sarah Geronimo.
In the category Fan Mania are the love teams: AlDub, JaDine and LizQuen. Included in the Prime Players list are Maja Salvador, Glaiza de Castro, Carla Abellana, Enchong Dee, Tom Rodriguez, Gerald Anderson, Bela Padilla and Lovi Poe. Going solo in their own categories are Coco Martin as TV King. Ogie Alcasid as Music Hero, Tirso Cruz III as Idol, Vice Ganda as In a League of his Own, Karla Estrada as Queen Mother, Michael V as Comic Genius.
Other categories are Formidable with Eugene Domingo, Gina Alajar and Irma Adlawan; Acing It with Eula Valdez and Sylvia Sanchez; Staying Power with Manilyn Reynes and Janice de Belen; Sizzling Hot with Coleen Garcia, Jak Roberto, Dominic Roxas, Albie Casino, Andrea Torres, Ronnie Alonte, Kim Domingo and Yassi Pressman. Hot Papas with Ian Veneracion, Gabby Concepcion and John Estrada; Star Performers with Jodi Santamaria, Iza Calzado and Angelica Panganiban; Network Bets with Julia Barretto, Julia Montes, Rocco Nacino, Janine Gutierrez, Derrick Monasterio, Gabbi Garcia, Kris Bernal and Ruru Madrid; Strong Starters with Gil Cuerva, Loisa Andalio, Mika de la Cruz, Devon Seron, Yen Santos, Inah de Belen, Mikee Quintos and Taki Saito.
For the complete list, just get a copy of this special collector’s issue of the Most Beautiful Stars for only P150. It can also be downloaded at we.tl/aMcaKcum5M. We’re just surprised about some omissions. Paulo Avelino is conspicuously missing among Kapamilya stars, when he stars in two new TV soaps, “Promise of Forever” and “Victims of Love”, and in two new big movies: “Ang Larawan” and “Heneral Goyong”.
If they could include Yen Santos whose debut movie, “Northern Lights”, was a big flop, how could they ignore Paulo? Among Kapuso stars, Ryza Cenon and Ken Chan should not have been overlooked as they really made a big splash this year in “Ika-6 na Utos” and “Meant to Be”.
