AFTER STARRING in their first soap together, “Pusong Ligaw”, rumored sweethearts Sofia Andres and Diego Loyzaga are now paired again in their first movie as a love team, “Bloody Crayons”, where they share top billing with another young tandem, Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona. How do they feel about it?
“We’re very happy to be working together and with the other young co-stars we have in the movie,” says Diego. “But I just want to make it clear that the story of ‘Bloody Crayons’ is not focus on the love teams. Meron din, pero very slight lang. This is kasi more of a suspense-thriller about a group of graduating students who go to an island to make a short film and become the victims of a sadistic and mysterious killer who stalks them one by one. Hindi ito tungkol sa mga multo-multo or anything supernatural but something more realistic na magpapakaba talaga sa viewers.”
“Ang maganda sa movie, nakabuo kami ng bagong family of friends while we were shooting it in various locations like Bataan, Tanay and Batangas,” says Sofia. “Masaya ang naging bonding namin ng buong cast, along with Jane Oineza, Maris Racal, Ronnie Alonte, Yves Flores and comedian Empoy. Naging barkada kami talaga kaya masaya talaga ang lahat sa set while we’re shooting out of town. And it’s also fun working with Direk Topel Lee kasi parang kabarkada rin lang namin siya sa set. He’s not the type na naninigaw kaya walang tension sa shooting and he’s also very good at what he does.”
So how will she and Diego describe their relationship now, off cam? “We’re okay,” they both say.
And what does ‘we’re okay’ exactly mean? “Ibig sabihin, we’re really happy working together, sa TV man or dito sa movie. We’re good, especially when we’re together,” says Diego.
“Whatever we have now,” adds Sofia, “it’s something good because we are able to really work well and have good rapport with each other. Basta panoorin nyo po ang first movie namin together na ‘Bloody Crayons’ if you want to have a good scare. Tiyak na mapapasigaw kayo. It opens in theaters on July 12 po.”
