Then he started appearing on cam as segment host in “Kay Susan Tayo” in 2003 and various other shows, before he joined “Unang Hirit” in 2011 and “Bubble Gang”, where his character as Antonietta became very popular.
He also acted doing supporting roles in primetime soaps like “Genesis”, “Once Upon a Kiss”, “Because of You” and the latest was “I Heart Davao. He has also done several movies like “Boy Pickup”, “Of All the Things”, “Lady Boss”, “Basement” and “I Love You to Death”.
He now gets to host a new show with no less than Solenn Heussaff as co-host, “All-Star Videoke Challenge”, that will start airing on September 3 replacing “Hay Bahay” after “24 Oras Weekend” every Sunday. The show has been previously hosted by the likes of Arnell Ignacio, Jaya and Allan K.
“Malaking karangalan na sumunod sa yapak nila in hosting the show,” says Betong. “Sobrang excitement ako to be chosen by GMA-7 to host it with Solenn Heussaff at nagpapasalamat ako dahil maipapakita ko sa show na kaya kong kumanta, Kami kasi ni Solenn will start the song for each contestant at sila ang magtutuloy nito.”
The contestants in their pilot telecast are led by real life sweethearts Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto, along with Ken Chan and other guest celebrities, under the direction of Louie Ignacio. The presscon was held right at the studio where the show is being taped and the set is truly spectacular and fantastic, costing some P2.5 million.
Some press people were invited as guest contestants and the grand winner was Nerissa Almo of PEP who did Adele’s “Someone Like You”. Each contestant is supposed to supply the missing words in the song assigned to them. The grand winner will be called the All Star Videoke Champ and may win up to P100,000. If the winner agrees to continoustly play in the succeeding weeks, then he might win Super Oke special prize.
