Dong says that he was on vacation for almost half a year and he has to warm up again in facing the cameras anew. “Panay bakasyon ang ginawa namin ni Marian with Zia nitong first half ng 2017,” he says. “It’s nice, family bonding talaga. But now, back to work na and it’s a blessing for me to do ‘Ang Pagbabalik ni Alyas Robin Hood’ which rated very high noong Season 1. Hopefully, nandiyan pa rin ang viewers namin noon, excited nang mapanood uli ang character as Pepe.”
Isn’t he worried that rumors linking him to Andrea Torres might be revived now that they’re reunited? Andrea was bashed especially when it’s reported that Marian Rivera got jealous of her.
“Both Marian and Andrea have already clarified na hindi totoo yan, Nalinaw na nilang mabuti, so sana tigilan na nila. Tungkol sa bashing, no one deserves to be bullied on social media so they should all stop it. As of now, ginagawa lang namin ni Andrea ang trabaho namin so yung mga taong nang-iintriga, huwag na nilang lagyan ng ibang kulay ang pagtatrabaho namin together because we’re just playing our roles at gusto lang namin ma-entertain ang viewers ng ‘Alyas Robin Hood’. Let’s not involve our personal lives.”In Season 2, Pepe is now a hotshot lawyer who helps his poor clients by offering his service pro bono. But some unexpected turn of events will force him to return as “Alyas Robin Hood” who uses his bow and arrow in his quest for justice. “Book 2 is definitely bigger, mas ma-action at mas puno ng exciting sequences,” he says. “May bago rin kaming mga makakasama bilang kontrabida, sina Edu Manzano at Jay Manalo, plus Ruru Madrid and Solenn Heussaff. Siempre, nandiyan pa rin ang mga dati kong kasama, like Andrea Torres, Jaclyn Jose, Lindsay de Vera, Dave Bornea, Rob Moya and many more.”
The new season of “Alyas Robin Hood” is under the direction of Dominic Zapata, who says they’re all leaving no stone unturned and are really pushing their limits to make sure the show will be a big success that viewers of all ages will enjoy to watch.“Iba na ang panlasa ng Pinoy viewers ngayon at mas mataas na ang expectations nila, so you have to give them what they deserve,” says Direk Dom. “Conceptually, sa effects, sa story, sa action sequences, mas malaki ang gagawin namin for ‘Alyas Robin Hood 2’. It’s the only way to go, and it’s the only reason you can give the audience for doing a sequel. So dapat, abangan nila ito sa Monday as I assure them na hindi kami mapapahiya sa kanila.”
