RICKY DAVAO is playing Heart Evangelista’s gay uncle in the well received and groundbreaking GMA primetime show, “My Korean Jagiya”, and we tell him some folks are now doubting his masculinity and think he might be truly gay in real life.
“Naku, bayaan mo silang mamatay sa pagdududa,” he laughs. Kim Chi. Ha ha ha!”
He says he’s used to playing gay roles. “This is not naman the first time na gumanap akong bading. Mas malalala pa nga yung iba. In ‘American Adobo’, may kissing scene ako with Christopher de Leon.
Maybe his manhood is being questioned since he has not been linked to any other girl since he broke up with wife Jackielou Blanco? Sa totoo lang, our three kids are pushing me na magka-girlfriend. Napapansin nilang masyado akong naka-focus sa work ko ngayon. After directing ‘Legally Blind’, heto back to acting naman ako, so silang nagwo-worry na zero ang lovelife ko. Sila pa nagsasabi, lalo yung two daughters ko, go out, get a life, date someone, kasi nakikita nila, umuuwi ako nang 6 to 7 in the morning from taping. Sabi ko, may darating na tamang babae para sa’kin, di na kailangang hanapin ko pa dahil darating siya in God’s right time.”
He’s challenged by his gay role in “My Korean Jagiya”. “Kasi ang gays naman, iba-iba yan. There is a variety of gays na puede mong i-experiment.
Meantime, fans of “My Korean Jagiya” in Angeles City will get the chance to be entertained by its stars today at 5 PM, at Marquee Mall. Doing a special show for them are Heart Evangelista, Alexander Lee, Edgar Allan Guzman, Myke Salomon and Divine Aucina.
