AFTER THE HIT romcom-drama, “Love You to the Stars & Back” with Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia now goes solo in portraying the title role in “The Good Son” that starts airing on Monday to replace “A Love to Last” that will end this Friday. He plays Joseph, the illegitimate son of Albert Martinez as Victor and Mylene Dizon as Raquel. Mylene has an older son from a previous relationship, Mccoy de Leon as Obet.
When Albert suddenly succumbs to a heart attack, they found out during his wake that he has another family. His second wife is Eula Valdez as Olivia and his other sons are Jerome Ponce as Enzo and Nash Aguas as Calvin.
Their leading ladies are Loisa Andalio as Hazel, Elisse Joson as Sabina and Alexa Ilacad as Justine. Also in the cast are John Estrada as Albert’s brother, Liza Lorena as Eula’s mom, Ronnie Lazaro as Mylene’s dad, Jeric Raval, Alex Medina, Kathleen Hermosa, Igiboy Flores, Paul Salas and Ethan Salvador. The first three episodes were previewed to the press, directed by Manny Palo and Andoy Ranay, and the story is very engaging.
Since he plays the title role, is Joshua truly a good son even in real life? “I try to be,” he says.
He was paired with Loisa Andalio before in PBB 2014 and the soap “Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita” in 2015, but he’s now more identified with Julia Barretto after they starred in two hit movies. Didn’t he feel awkward now that he’s reunited with Loisa?
We’re friends.”
