New Director Giselle Andres Gets To Helm 'Loving In Tandem', Launching Movie Of Mayward & Kissmarc Love Teams

STAR CINEMA gives Giselle Andres the break to direct her first full length film, “Loving in Tandem”. Now 34 years old, she was a fresh film school graduate when she first worked at Star Cinema as production designer, wardrobe in charge and scriptgirl, before she became an assistant director to Rory Quintos who eventually told her to try directing films and sent her to Olivia Lamasan who trained her as her assistant in movies like “The Mistress”, “In the Name of Love” and “Barcelona”.

She was very nervous when told she’d direct the new PBB discoveries in their launching film, “Loving in Tandem”. “Siempre, kinakabahan ako kasi baguhan sila, at ako man, baguhan din ako,” she says. “Ang maganda lang, sabay-sabay kaming bago, kaya sabay-sabay rin kaming natuto. Magandang learning experience for all of us.”

So how is it directing Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo in “Loving in Tandem” that opens on Wednesday, September 13? “Before we started shooting, I talked to them individually on how they’ll attack their roles. What’s nice is puro sila madaling matuto. The story is actually a modern fairy tale about two people who come from totally different worlds, kasi si Maymay is a bubbly city girl at si Edward naman, balikbayan na galit sa mundo. So, will their relationship succeed despite their differences? Kisses and Marco play their best friends who also get romantically linked to each other. In fairness to them, they all deliver in the movie.”
