DINGDONG DANTES says it’s an honor to work with Aga Muhlach in “Seven Sundays”, which got an A from the Cinema Evaluation Board. He plays Bryan, Aga’s younger brother and they have a bad case of sibling rivalry. He’s more financially successful than Aga who he feels is always the “bida” or favored one in their family. So how is it working with Aga for the first time? “Idol ko talaga si Aga noon pa,” he says. “Kaya ako na-convince to go into acting, dahil sa kanya. Pero kung fan niya ako noon as an actor, now, I’m a fan of his because of his persona. I’m really thankful na nabigyan ako ng chance na mas makikilalang mabuti ang pagkatao niya. During the whole process of making this film, pinaramdam niya talaga sa amin na kuya namin siya. He inspires us and makes us feel good on the set. He’s an actor you will admire even away from the camera.”
Cristine Reyes as their only sister in “Seven Sundays” concurs with Dingdong. “Fan din ako ni Aga noong ‘Oki Doki Doc’ days pa lang niya and I really watch his movies. At tama si Dingdong. Talagang mas nakilala namin siya dahil sa pelikulang ito. At mas lalo akong humanga sa kanya after working with him. Hindi niya kailanman ipinaramdam na Aga Muhlach siya, kung gaano kalaki ang name niya. Napakabait niya at humble.”
“Para namang eulogy na sa’kin yan,” Aga quips. “Honestly, nakaka-embarrass kapag pinupuri ka sa harap ng maraming tao, but it’s flattering din at the same time. But you know what, I’ll take it, thank you. Ever since naman, wala akong inaway o kinainggitan and I’m glad that after all these years, nandito pa rin ako sa industriyang natutuhan kong mahalin at yakapin ng buong puso.”
