Based on Mervin Malonzo’s best selling graphic novel that won the National Book Award for Graphic Literature, Phoebe plays the role of Sabel, a senior vampire who is trying to chart the course for the life of Elias, played by AJ Muhlach, a young aswang who is struggling to find his true nature. The series also stars Luis Alandy as Tasyo, another senior aswang, and newcomer Jourdanne Castillo, as Elias’ lady love who is the sex slave of a priest.
Directed by Paul Basinillo, a director of music videos, concerts and several TV commercials that have won awards in the New York Ad Fest, "Tabi Po" gives the now familiar stories of aswangs a new twist perfect for millennial viewers who look for something new.
Elias is an aswang born from an ancient balete tree during the Spanish regime. Set in the backdrop of the Philippine revolution, he faces his own battles with his own inner demons, the growing rift between him and his mentor Luis Alandy, and fighting for his love for Salome.
