BOSS ORLY ILACAD of OctoArts Films has partnered with Rex Tiri of TRex Films to produce the special Halloween presentation, “Spirit of the Glass 2, The Haunted.” “Before the year is over, two more films from OctoArts will be released,” he says. “Sa November 29, showing na ang ‘Barbie, Wonder Beki’ starring Paolo Ballesteros with Kim Domingo and the young love team of Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix. Then, for the Metro-Manila Filmfest naman, entry namin ang ‘Meant to Be’ na co-production with APT Entertainment of the Tuvieras and MZet Productions ni Vic Sotto. Tinigilan muna namin ang pagdi-distribute ng foreign films. By next year, we intend to produce six new local films. Talagang balik na ang OctoArts sa full blast film production.”
This is really good news for the industry. It will mean more jobs for movie stars as well as writers, directors and crew members. Boss Orly is optimistic that “Meant to Beh” will have a good chance of being a topgrosser since it stars Bossing Vic with Dawn Zulueta and has a good mix of stars from different networks, like Andrea Torres, Daniel Matsunaga, JC Santos, Ruru Madrid, Gabbi Garcia, Sue Ramirez and Baeby Baste. This is written and directed by Chris Martinez.
So how is “Spirit of the Glass 2” which will open on Wednesday? “Napanood ko na and we’re all very satisfied with it. Maganda ang pagkakagawa ni Joey Reyes sa buong movie. From start to end, marami talagang scary scenes, at puro mahuhusay ang mga artista led by Cristine Reyes, Janine Gutierrez, Maxine Medina and Ashley Ortega.”
