SHARON CUNETA and Robin Padilla did three films before: “Maging Sino Ka Man” (1991), “Di Na Natuto” (1993), and “Pagdating ng Panahon” (2001). After 16 years, they’re now reunited in “Unexpectedly Yours” that opens in theaters tomorrow. So how is it working together again?
“Robin is one of my favorite leading men and it’s always a pleasure working with him,” says Ate Shawie. “We think alike, have the same sense of humor, tawa lang kami nang tawa pag magkasama kami so it’s nice to work with him again.”
“Itong project natin, totally different,” Sharon says. “Ginawa talaga ito para sa atin with Joshua and Julia.”
“So lumabas ang katotohanan,” adds robin.
Sharon agrees. In the story, Robin is an OFW, a seaman who’s been his entire family’s breadwinner for many years so he remains single. He first fell in love with Sharon when they were school mates. But Sharon is in Section 1 and he’s in Section 6, so he never got to express his love for her. Now, they meet again when Sharon is feeling so low after her marriage has crumbled and she’s being eased out of her job. And that’s why the film’s title is “Unexpectedly Yours”.
And how is it working with their younger co-stars, Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto? Grabe! Ang tawag ko sa kanila, B1 and B2, meaning Baba 1 and Baba 2. Kaya pag nakita ko silang wala yung isa, sasabihin ko, where’s your Baba?”
