ERICH GONZALES shows off her sexy figure in several scenes in “Siargao” where she is seen her skimpy bikinis. This is really her sexiest appearance on the big screen. “Well, I’m not getting any younger po,” she says. “At pinaghandaan ko po yan. I’ve been eating healthy. At talagang nagwo-workout ako, maski noong nasa Siargao kami mismo. It came to a point sa life and career ko na kung hindi ko gagawin ngayon, kailan pa? I felt I’m ready for it now at dumating naman yung tamang project sa proper timing naman ang lahat.”
She’s happy to be part of the annual Metro Filmfest again. “My last entry was ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ three years ago, so it’s nice to be back and do this movie na nakaka-excite as it shows the viewers the beauty of one of the best places in our country. Marami kong ginawa rito na exciting talaga, like surfing and cliff jumping. Ako rin ang nag-drive sa sarili kong motorbike around Siargao. Halos one month kaming nag-stay roon at lahat kami sa cast, sobrang ganda ng experience namin kasi you’re working but at the same time, parang nagbabakasyon ka rin lang in such a beautiful idyllic place by the beach.”
How does she feel about all the rumors linking her to their director, Paul Soriano? “E, hindi na lang po pinapansin yun kasi malayo naman sa katotohanan. Even his wife, Toni Gonzaga, is not bothered by it kasi alam niyang intriga lang, gawa-gawa lang. Personally, I admire Direk Paul for his passion sa craft niya. Lahat kami, pati my co-stars Jericho Rosales and Jasmine Curtis Smith, got along fine. Kapag walang shoot, kuwentuhan kasi kami-kami lang ang nandun, e. Palitan ng views about life in general. Tulong-tulong din kami sa set, walang nagpa-diva na kahit sino.”
Everyone knows before Siargao, she had a bad breakup with Daniel Matsunaga so shooting the film is a welcome break for her. “Ideal ang Siargao for soul-searching kasi very peaceful, but even before we got there, hindi na ako lost, I’ve already found myself. But still I found Siargao to have a calming effect on me, the beach, the clouds, the palm trees. Napakaganda talaga.”
We heard she already has a new boyfriend, non-showbiz, but she won’t confirm this. “Sa ‘Siargao’ na lang tayo. I really like the story sa movie namin. About three brokenhearted people, pero very light ang treatment. We enjoyed shooting it and we know viewers will enjoy watching it also.”
