On the big screen, he was with Vhong Navarro in Regal’s “Woke Up Like This”, with Enrique Gil in Star Cinema’s “My Ex and Whys”. He was Toni Gonzaga’s twin brother in “Last Night”. And now, he has a Metro-Manila Filmfest entry in Regal’s horror flick, “Haunted Forest”, where he plays the chief of police in the town where a monstrous elemental called Sitsit is abducting young women.
“I have two other movies,” he says when we talked to him at the Wednesday Club Christmas Party organized by Malou Choa Fagar, who is his manager. “Kailangang kumayod dahil marami pa kong babayarang tuition fees.”
Mother Lily says it’s because he has 15 children but Joey corrects her and says he has a total of only eleven children. He has a daughter with Alma Moreno who’s an international beauty queen, Winwyn, and he has a daughter with Brenda del Rio, Jowee Ann, who has passed the bar and is now a certified lawyer. His eldest son, Jeremy, is now the secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), an appointee of Pres. Duterte.
