MATTEO GUIDICELLI is feeling nervous now that his big solo concert, “Hey, Matteo”, is all set to be staged at Kia Theatre this Friday night with Kiana Valenciano, Morisette and rapper Loonie as his special guests, with Louie Ocampo as musical director and Rowell Santiago as stage director.
“I promise it will be a great night of fun and entertainment as I share my music with the audience,” he says. “We’ve prepared some very special numbers for everyone.”
Will his GF Sarah Geronimo be there also a guest? “I invited her to watch, not to sing, kasi baka sabihin na naman, ginagamit ko siya pati sa concert ko. She has nothing to do with the show.”
Doesn’t he get jealous when Sarah has romantic scenes with her leading men, like John Lloyd Cruz? “Not naman jealous. Very supportive naman ako. Hindi ka dapat magselos kasi bilang artista, you have to understand that we just have to be professional, be more mature about that. Ngayon, while watching and you feel you’re affected, okay lang, but you have to switch that off. I admit I was affected when they were hugging in their last movie, parang too much, but I told myself that just means they’re doing their job well kaya I’m affected. Sa totoong buhay, hindi pwedeng ganyan, but sa movie, trabaho lang naman so okay lang yun. I know naman her leading men have no chance sa kanya because she is only mine.”
His concert will demonstrate that he is not just an actor but also a singer, that there’s more to him than just being known as the boyfriend of Sarah Geronimo. Does he also sing to Sarah? “Yes, when we’re together sa phone, then a nice song will play on the radio, I sing to her and she also sings to me. We jam. But we don’t do it in public. We don’t even post our pictures together in social media. It’s our decision to keep our private life safe, separate from the public. Kundi, lalo siguro akong napagbintangang ginagamit siya.”
