LOVI POE is so busy these days. She’s in GMA-7’s new primetime soap, “The One that Got Away”, that will start airing this Monday. And she’s also in three new movies. She figures in a love triangle story with Tom Rodriguez and Erich Gonzales in “The Significant Other” that will be shown in February. And she’s now also doing “Latay” where she plays the abusive wife of Allen Dizon, a battered husband, directed by Ralston Jover. Her third movie is “Pisonet” with the comebacking director Tikoy Aguiluz.
Lovi no longer hides that she is in an LDR (long distance relationship) with French BF Chris Johnson who spent the recent Christmas holidays here with her. But among her ex-BFs (Jake Cuenca and Rocco Nacino among them), who would she say is the one that got away for her? “Sorry po, but wala po akong ganong TOTGA,” she says.
Is it because she’s the one who got away for those guys she left behind? “Ay, wala po akong sinabing ganyan. Parang ang yabang naman kapag nagsalita ka ng ganyan.”
She admits that breaking up is a very hard thing to do and not at all her exes are her friends. “Yung iba kasi, we’ve lost communications. But I’m hoping they know that I wish them well and I want to be in good terms with them.”
Is she more serious with Chris? Have they talked about marriage? “Wala pang ganun. Even if all of my friends, halos married nang lahat, hindi ko iniisip ang ganyan. Wala pa yan sa aking scheme of things right now. Mas focused pa rin ako sa work, lalo ngayong I’m so busy sa dami ng ginagawa ko. And I can feel na kung pakakasal ako ngayon, I will be just half hearted about. If I ever I’d commit myself in marriage, gusto ko, yung buong-buo, nandun ako.”
How would she describe the past year for her? “Okay naman. 2017 was good for me. I did a lot of traveling, which I enjoyed so much. I also did one of my best dramas ever, ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’. And now, kapapasok lang ng taon, meron naman akong TOTGA and three new movies so it’s a very good way to start 2018.”
