Netizens quickly praised her for sticking to her own kind of music and not just following the usual OPM trends for her generation. And now, after her hit concert in Cebu, “3 Stars 1 Heart” with Regine Velasquez and Christian Bautista, she’s now all set to star in her solo pre-Valentine concert, “#Julie”, at the Music Museum this Saturday, January 27.
So, how different is this from her past concerts? “This one is more intimate and more mature kasi ang concept nito is about the various stages of love,” she says. “We’ll have songs representing the getting to know you stage, tapos yung into a relationship na kayo, then yung mga away-away and break up stage, then last is moving on. I’ll have plenty of production numbers which we conceived with director Melvin Caldito. I’ll be singing my latest single, which is ‘There’s Nothing Left’, and many medleys.”

Does her new single apply to her and Benjamin? Did she really give everything to him and “There’s Nothing Left” in her? “Although you try to give everything to your relationship, mahirap gawin as I believe you still have to love yourself first. At meron ka pa rin dapat love for your family, for your career, and for God.”

So why did she leave GMA Records and moved to Universal? “I just want to explore and venture into new things and new venues when it comes to my music. When my new album is released, you’d noticed na ibang-iba ito kaysa sa past albums that I did before.”
She’s currently seen on weekends on GMA-7, the sitcom “Pepito Manaloto” and the noontime comedy revue, “Sunday PinaSaya”. How about a new teleserye since her last one, “Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa”, was aired a year ago?
“As of now, I just want to focus on my music and my album muna. But kung may bagong soap na ibibigay sa akin ang GMA, why not? I miss doing drama rin naman.”
