NADINE LUSTRE is happy to leave 2017 behind. She’s the first to admit it’s not a good year for her, what with her younger brother’s untimely passing away that caused her to feel depression. So how is she now?
“I feel really great now kasi, even though bad things really happened to us, ganun talaga. Minsan, hindi natin ine-expect ‘yung mangyayari. If it’s meant to happen, it’s gonna happen. Our family learned so much from what happened and we all became better people. We promised to each other that we’d be stronger and closer. A lot of other people were also touched by the incident. Sila ‘yung nag-push talaga sa’kin to get out of my depression. They were messaging me through Instagram, may mga e-mails and I feel really blessed because all these people encouraged me kaya pinilit ko ang sarili to pull myself up and stay strong and be there for everyone.”
She directed the new music video of her BF James Reid and people say she did a good job. “I took up filmmaking in school at noon ko pa talaga gusto magdirek so I’m happy nagustuhan nila ang trabaho ko. Mahilig din ako sa music and the songs of James inspired me, so I suggested that I direct his music video. I’m really thankful na pumayag siya at ginastuan niya talaga ang music video.”
She and James are back big time in “Revolution: The JaDine Concert” at the Big Dome on February 9. She’s elated as she’ll have a duet with special guest Sarah Geronimo. “I’m really excited kasi we’ll sing my favorite songs since bata pa ako,” she says.
“Britney and Madonna ang peg nila sa number nila,” says James.
Nadine is back in two new movies. She’s now shooting “Never Not Love You” with James, directed by Antoinette Jadaone. Later, she will shoot a horror-thriller, “The Nurse”, co-starring Lorna Tolentino, to be shot in Japan directed by Jun Lana. “Revolution, The Jadine Concert” is directed by Paul Basinillo.
