“Before this, I played supporting roles in films like ‘Lovestruck’, ‘Migrante’, ‘Diyos-Diyosan’ and ‘Enteng Kabisote and the Abangers’,” she says. “Then I played the lead in the indie film, ‘Manananggal sa Unit 23B’. This past year, sobrang dami talaga ng blessings na dumating sa akin, starting with my role as Georgia in ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ na talaga namang nagmarka sa tao. And now that Viva is managing me, heto may mainstream movie na ako. I’m just happy na at 30, nabigyan pa ako ng ganitong big breaks. So, ang advice ko sa mga naiinip to achieve stardom in showbiz, don’t give up, don’t quit, just continue honing your craft para kapag dumating yung chance na mabigyan kayo ng tamang break, you’re well equipped to portray the breakout role that will be assigned to you at mailalabas nyo nang bonggang-bongga ang talent nyo.”
She says it was a big gamble for her to leave GMA Talent Center that has been managing her all these years. “But you have to tak the risk kasi. Otherwise, how will you move forward? But kahit Viva na ang manager ko, I will forever be grateful to GMA for all their help to me. At siempre, kahit may offers ako ngayon from other networks, priority ko pa rin ang GMA. Sabi, hanggang March pa raw ang ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ and I’m glad na we’ll end habang nasa peak pa rin kami at mataas pa rin ang ratings everyday.”How’s it working with Direk Sigrid and JC Santos who’s a Kapamilya? “Si Direk Sigrid, very detailed so gusto niya but also open to suggestions kaya masarap katrabaho. Si JC naman, magaang katrabaho. Hasa siya as a theatre actor so he gives me tips about acting, lalo na nahihirapan ako sa role ko rito as Gela na kalmado pero madaldal, na in contrast sa kasabay kong ginagawang role as Georgia na laging intense, galit. Kung minsan, nalilito ako kung sino ako, so JC is there to remind me lagi na si Gela ako, hindi si Georgia. Yung mga nakaranas ng heartbreak, makaka-relate sila kay Gela dito sa ‘Mr. and Mrs. Cruz’ kasi it’s about closure. Gela kasi goes soul searching at naghahanap siya ng sagot sa questions about herself after she was dumped by her husband. Tuturuan kayo nito how to move on and go on with your life after a failed relationship.”
It's said JC's theatre actress girlfriend broke up with him after she got jealous with Ryza. "Malinis ang conscience ko. I don't think I'm the reason. Everyone knows I have a relationship with Cholo Barretto. I'm very much taken."
