“At Ate Maxene’s wedding in Boracay, nagka-goosebumps talaga ako and I was teary eyed while she was walking down the aisle,” he says. “Somehow it’s sad kasi wala na si Papa (the late Francis Magalona). But as she was walking towards the altar, a butterfly appeared flying around her. It’s caught on video. Ang daming happy memories na pumasok sa isip ko and I’ll never forget my Ate’s wedding.”
Janella Salvador, his ka-love team, attended the affair and they were surprised when they were asked to sing at the reception. “We didn’t even expect na kakanta kami on stage because we weren’t prepared, it was like a jamming thing lang. Tapos biglang tinawag ako ng sister ko na umakyat daw kami ni Janella on stage and we sang ‘Cold Summer Nights’, na song of our dad. Siyempre ako naman I am used to singing with Janella eh, but in front of my family, it was different, I couldn’t contain my laughter while singing kasi natatawa ako na ginagawa ko ‘yun in front of my family.”
He’s happy that Janella is in good terms with his mom and siblings. “She really gets along well with
Was he the gratecrasher that Janella’s mom, Jenine Desiderio, referred to in a post some weeks ago, who’s not invited to their family celebration but had the temerity to make an appearance there? “Hindi po ako yun. I don’t do such things.”
Janella defended him and said she personally invited him and their relatives all know about this. Elmo says he’s a very peaceful person.
“I just want peace for everyone. If they have a problem in their family, I don’t want to be involved. Basta I’ll just be here to support Janella.”
So who will be their date this coming Valentine Day? “Wala kaming choice kundi ang isa’t isa. ‘My Fairy Tale Love Story’ is opening on that day and we will have to promote it together at baka mag-theater tour kami.”
