Kiko Estrada Doesn't Mind Playing The Third Wheel To Janella Salvador & Elmo Magalona In 'My Fairy Tail Love Story'

KIKO ESTRADA played a lead role in his previous movie with Regal Entertainment, the horror flick “Pwera Usog.” Now, he plays a supporting role as the third wheel in the love team of Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona in Regal’s Valentine offering “My Fairy Tail Love Story.” Doesn’t he mind doing supporting roles again? “Not at all,” he says. “I love my role at nag-audition ako for this. Yung iba, ayaw dumaan sa audition but ako, I don’t mind. At siempre, natuwa ako nang ako ang mapili ni Director Perci Intalan in the role of Ethan, the DJ na akala ni Janella na siyang Prince Charming niya at magiging dahilan ang pag-lift ng sumpa sa kanya para hindi na siya maging sirena.”

How is it working with Janella and Elmo who are Kapamilya stars while he’s a Kapuso? “I enjoyed so much working with them. Magaan sila parehong katrabaho at lahat kami, may conscious effort na mapaganda ang pelikula namin. Hindi naman ako kontrabida sa kanila rito kaya I’m sure hindi ako iba-bash ng fans ng love team nila. I also enjoyed working with Direk Perci. Sobrang galing niya and I feel so blessed being given the chance to work with him.”

On the film’s premiere night, for sure, Janella and Elmo will be each other’s date. So how about him? Who will be his Valentine date? “Sorry but I’m currently loveless. Ang isasama ko sa premiere night is my mama (Cheska Diaz), kasi gusto niyang mapanood ang movie. I’ll also treat her to dinner.”

Is it his personal choice to be loveless? “Yes, kasi mas naka-focused po ako ngayon sa trabaho. I’m doing two new movies sa ngayon.”

If ever he’d be given a new drama series by GMA-7, who would he like to be his leading lady? “Ako naman, kung sino ang ibigay ng GMA sa akin, wini-welcome ko lang. But kung akong papipiliin, I’d like to work with Sanya Lopez. Napapanood ko siya sa show niyang ‘Haplos’ and she’s really not just pretty pero magaling ding umarte. Sana nga, mabigyan na ako ng bagong series gaya ng dad ko (Gary Estrada) na nasa ‘The Stepdaughters’ ngayon.”

Would he agree to do a project with Barbie and her current BF Jak Roberto? “No, I’d rather not. Kung kaming dalawa lang ni Barbie, okay lang, pero kung ako yung lalabas na third wheel sa kanila, no thanks.”
