Geoff Eigenmann Back With GMA-7 In 'Contessa', Talks About How Fatherhood Has Changed Him

GEOFF EIGENMANN is back as a Kapuso playing the role of one of Glaiza de Castro’s leading men in the new afternoon soap, “Contessa”. “Sa story, kapatid ko ang boyfriend ni Glaiza na si Mark Herras,” he says. “I work abroad at mother namin si Melissa Mendez. Then, Mark was killed on their wedding day and I had to rush back home. Si Glaiza ang nadiing pumatay sa brother kasi Mark is heavily insured and she wants daw to get the insurance money. So she got imprisoned when the truth is she was just framed up by Lauren Young who wanted revenge kasi Mark rejected her at si Glaiza nga ang pinakasalan. Glaiza and I have worked before dito rin sa GMA so comfortable na kami sa isa’t isa.”

He was last seen with Erich Gonzales in a Kapamilya soap. How is it returning home to GMA-7? “I’m very happy to be back here. It came at the most opportune time kasi nga, daddy na ako.”

His partner, singer Maya (real name is Angeli Mae Flores) gave birth to their baby girl, named Arabella Simone, who’s now five months old. “Being a dad changed my life, my perspective totally, which is just expected kasi nga you now have a new set of priorities. You no longer just think of yourself but your family.”


Has he and Maya talked about facing the altar? “Napag-uusapan but we have yet to talk about it seriously. No need naman to rush the wedding. Right now, we are still living with my mom (Gina Alajar), so dapat, paghandaan muna naming mabuti yan. Ni hindi pa nga namin naaasikaso ang christening ng baby namin, which is also important.”

Will Maya also resume her singing career? “Yes, she misses it. Gusto na nga niyang bumalik but then she has responsibilities as a new mom so priority muna namin ang daughter namin, until siguro malaki-laki na.”
