Anne Curtis Plays A Mysterious Character Who Keeps Insomniac Dingdong Dantes Company At Night In 'Sid & Aya, Not A Love Story'

ANNE CURTIS plays a mysterious character in “Sid & Aya, Not a Love Story”, which was partly shot in Japan and will open in theaters this Wednesday. Viva Films is very secretive about the plot and all that they’ll reveal is that Dingdong Dantes is an insomniac and it’s Anne as Aya who keeps him company during those nights that he is sleep deprived. Because of this, people think she must be just a ghost or a spirit who appears during nocturnal hours.

“No, hindi po ako multo rito at hindi rin ako alien or an imaginary character,” says Anne. “It was four years ago when this story was pitched to me and I’m glad, finally, heto, finished film na siya. But we can’t reveal everything kasi mawawala yung magic. You have to watch the movie yourself to personally experience it. All I can say is it’s really something very different from anything you’ve seen before.”

Dingdong takes his hat off to Anne for her beautiful interpretation of the character of Aya. “We’ve known each other for 20 years since we started in TGIS but this is the first time we’re paired together in a project. All I can say is ang galing niya sa napakalawak niyang interpretasyon kay Aya. Siempre, we have Direk Irene Villamor to guide us so it’s really a collaborative effort. But without Anne in the role, hindi ko makitang magiging effective ang kalalabasan ng kakaibang story ng pelikulang ito. She provides the X factor in her interpretation of Aya.”

What’s the reaction of their respective spouses, Erwan Heussaff for her and Marian Rivera for Dong, about their first teamup? “Erwan has always been very supportive and when he saw the trailer of ‘Sid & Aya’, he said he’s excited to watch it since it’s really different from the films I’ve done before.”

“Ganun din si Marian,” says Dong. “When she saw the teaser pa lang, naintriga na siya talaga and she said you can feel it’s really something different from the usual. She knows I love the project kaya excited siyang mapanood na ito.”

Anne just returned from Batanes to shoot a movie called “Aurora” when she attended the presscon of “Sid & Aya”. She’s really so busy these days as she has also finished another movie, the action flick “Buy Bust” where she plays a hardhitting female cop. Looks like she’s neck deep with work she doesn’t have time to have a baby yet with Erwan?

“As of now, I just enjoy everything I’m doing with so much passion,” she says. “I believe that there’s a right time for everything at bahala na si Lord as to when He’d will na maging mommy na ako. Darating din naman yun in His own time and we don’t need to pressure ourselves.”
