She was the first runnerup in Starstruck 5 where the male winner was Steven Silva, who became her boyfriend.”Four years din naging kami,” she admits. “First boyfriend ko siya, so I felt so bad nang makipag-break siya sa’kin, kasi I always thought na okay naman kami. But he wants to devote more of his time to his career. Matagal bago ako nakapag-move on. Masakit, e. Siguro, about a year. It’s good I have supportive friends who helped me cope with it. I went out with them then eventually started dating again. I’m now on with a non-showbiz guy, mas tahimik. He’s a very private person so I respect his privacy at ni hindi ko nilalagay ang picture niya sa social media accounts ko. So he will remain to be a man of mystery.”
Have they entertained thoughts of getting married? “No, not at all. Ang dami ko pang dapat gawin for my family in Cebu. Alam naman ng boyfriend ko na tumutulong ako sa family and he’s happy that I do that. Nagpapasalamat lang ako dahil hindi ako pinababayaan ng GMA-7. Lagi akong may show. Heto nga, right after the afternoon soap na ‘Haplos’, kasama naman ako sa ‘The Cure’ na isang teleserye on primetime. I play the role of a vlogger. Si Jay Manalo na head ng security sa laboratory where Tom Rodriguez works, boyfriend ko. Noong sumabog ang epidemya turning people into monsters, ini-report ko sa vlog ko ang mga nangyayari at dahil doon, nag-panic ang mga tao kaya maraming nainis sa akin.”
What she wants to try now is doing independent movies. “Kaya lang walang kumukuha sa akin. Akala yata nila, hindi ako open sa indie films, so please, pakisulat na lang na open ako even in doing off beat and out of the box roles na challenging talaga.”
