SANYA LOPEZ had her break through role in the “Encantadia” remake as Danaya. She made quite a positive impact so after that, she was immediately launched solo in the afternoon soap, “Haplos”, which also rated well. Now, while waiting for her next TV assignment, Regal Entertainment got her to do a project with them for the big screen where she will be required to show some skin.
The film is provocatively titled “Love and Lust” and she will be paired with Derrick Monasterio. Both Sanya and Derrick are Kapuso stars but for the big screen, they have signed up movie contracts with Regal.
“I’ve done a movie before but this is my first one with a big mainstream company so I’m excited,” says Sanya. “Siempre, iba rin yung feeling mo na Regal Baby ka. And I’m glad I’m doing it with Derrick Monasterio as my leading man kasi comfortable na ako sa kanya.”
On TV, Derrick is paired with Barbie Forteza in “Inday Will Always Love You”. It’s common knowledge that Barbie’s real life squeeze is Sanya’s older brother, Jak Roberto. Her movie with Derrick, “Love and Lust”, will be directed by Connie Macatuno, who earlier directed the touching drama, “Mama’s Girl”, which got a Grade A from the Cinema Evaluation Broad. So how daring will she go in the movie?
“As the title says, this is about ‘Love and Lust’, so understandable na may love scenes kami ni Derrick,” she says. “Hindi ko pa lang alam kung anu-ano ang requirements ni Direk Connie sa amin, but I want to assure everyone that I will give it my full cooperation para sa ikagaganda ng movie. Also, I trust Derrick naman and I know trabaho lang ito for both of us. Nag-look test na kami and they all say maganda naman daw ang chemistry namin on screen.”She was paired with Rocco Nacino before in “Haplos” and there were fans who are supporting their love team. But Rocco has since unfollowed her in social media and deleted their previous photos together.
The rumor is that Rocco’s non-showbiz girlfriend named Melissa Gohing was jealous of her. What can she say about this? “Wala. Wala akong masasabi. Decision niya yun, so okay lang.
