BARBIE FORTEZA has reason to be happy because her new primetime romcom, “Inday Will Always Love You”, is rating well and slaying the competition. “Nagpapasalamat kami talagang lahat ng buong cast and crew dahil gabi-gabi kaming trending sa social media at consistent na mataas ang ratings namin according to AGB Nielsen NUTAM surveys since we started airing on May 21,” she says. “Kaya naman we’re all inspired sa taping now to make sure we won’t disappoint our viewers by coming up with more entertaining future episodes.”
That the show is a big success is not surprising since she perfectly fits her role as the perky, bubbly Inday Happylou in the story. She plays an assistant in a lechon store and she says it was so hot inside the “litsunan” area. “Lalo na ngayong napakainit ng panahon, dusa talaga,” she says. “Bilib nga ako sa mga nagtatrabaho roon kasi natitiis nila ang sobrang init sa loob ng lugar.”
She’s paired with Derrick Monasterio in the show and some folks asked her why she didn’t request that she be paired with her real life BF Jak Roberto who was with her in her last show, “Meant to Be”. “Bakit ko naman pakikialaman pa ang management sa decision nila? Wala po akong ilusyong powerful ako. At saka si Jak, nasa ‘Contessa’ siya and he’s doing very well there, so hayaan na lang natin siya roon. Okay naman ang tambalan namin ni Derrick. Sa simula, antipatiko ang dating niya sa’kin at lagi kaming nag-aaway the first time pa lang na magkakilala kami sa Manila. But our story will develop pag nagkita na kami uli sa Cebu kunsaan magiging boss ko naman siya sa isang litsunan doon which is owned by their family.”
She also wants to thank the people of Cebu for being so nice them while they’re taping there. “Mababait po silang lahat at very cooperative. Hanggang ngayon, they send me messages sa social media kapag lumalabas yung magagandang lugar sa Cebu kunsaan nag-taping kami.”
And what can she say now that Derrick is paired with Sanya Lopez in a new movie with Regal Entertainment, “Love and Lust”? “Siempre, happy ako for them. Iba naman ang movie sa pelikula. Sana suportahan sila ng viewers. I’m wishing them both well kasi nga kapareha ko ngayon si Derrick on TV at si Sanya naman is the younger sister of Jak.”
