Tacloban Mayor Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez led the Charter Day festivities. Under her administration, Tacloban is now one of the most competitive cities in the country, poised for more progress and development with the entry of more investors. It’s experiencing a business boom which is transforming Tacloban, the lone Highly Urbanized City in Eastern Visayas, into one of the most viable cities in the entire country today and what they call “home of the happiest people in the world!”

To entertain everyone, there are music events every night featuring various singers and bands, most of whom are coming in from Manila, like Jovit Baldivino, Basti Artadi, TJ Monterde, Ex Battalion, Siakol, Itchyworms, Better Days, Mayonnaise, Jensen & the Flips, Marc Abaya and Kjwan, Daybreak, Cueshe and, on June 30 they will have the Battle of the Bands with the Freestyle as guest. San MIguel Brewery, Globe and Smart will each have their own special nights of entertainment.

The shows will be held at their Sangyawan Concert Grounds and on June 27, this Wednesday, Mayor Cristina’s own eldest daughter, young recording artist Sofia Romualdez of Viva, will own the stage with her show. Her guests are La Familia, Daniel the Rice Cracker, Deadkey and Denial, DJ Ken, Yssa and Supremo Band. Sofia was also the special performer at the formal opening last Thursday of Tacloban’s newest hotel, Summit Hotel, located right beside Robinsons Place in Marasbaras. The fiesta’s highlight is the spectacular annual Sangyaw Parade of Lights around the city on June 30. So come to Tacloban and enjoy with us. See you there!!!
