Valeen Montenegro On Being Jerald Napoles' Leading Lady In 'The Write Up' & The Truth About Her & Rumored Secret Squeeze Ruru Madrid

VALEEN MONTENEGRO gets to play her first lead role in a full length movie in the romantic comedy, “The Write Moment”, which will be released by Viva and have its commercial run in theaters nationwide starting tomorrow. She’s paired with comedian Jerald Napoles and they have love scenes together. Didn’t she have any reluctance doing it?

“No, kasi it really helped na magkaibigan na kami and two years na kaming magkatrabaho in GMA’s ‘Sunday Pinasaya’ kami comfortable na kami sa isa’t isa,” she says. “I know I can trust him fully.”

She’s paired with Jerald but how comes she’s currently being linked to another “Sunday PinaSaya” co-star, Ruru Madrid, who’s said to be the reason why she broke up with her non-showbiz boyfriend?

“We’re all close in the show,” she says. “I’m friendly, hindi lang naman kay Ruru, but sa lahat. Di ba

na-bashed din ako when someone linked me with Alden Richards? Yun kay Ruru, minsan, itinutukso ako ni Ms. Ai Ai de las Alas sa kanya and people misinterpreted my friendliness for something else. Nakasama ko rin si Ruru sa recent show niyang ‘Sherlock Jr’ at naging close kami, but, sa totoo lang, baby brother ko lang siya. At hindi totoong my boyfriend and I have broken up. Nine years na kami at kami pa rin. He’s a football coach and a businessman at magkasosyo kami sa isang coffee shop.”

So Ruru is not the type of guy she’d fall for? “Cute naman siya, goodlooking, very talented, mabait din. Hayaan na lang nating yung iba ang magkandarapa sa kanya. Ang bata noon sa’kin, ano? 28 ako and he’s 20 lang. At alam niyang may boyfriend ako at ayoko ng boyfriend na taga-showbiz.”

Would she fall for someone like Jerald Napoles? “Why not? I like a guy with a good sense of humor at talagang napapatawa niya ako lagi. Nagki-click nga kami kasi pareho kaming baliw. What’s nice is maganda raw ang chemistry namin on screen and we use it to great advantage kaya kitang-kita yun dito sa movie naming ‘The Write Moment’ na may rapport kami. Girlfriend niya ako in the story na biglang nakipag-break sa kanya, pero hindi niya matanggap so he writes a hugot script na magkakatuluyan kami at parang naging totoo yun in real life. Maganda ang premise ng movie, so don’t miss it.”
