Elmo is the son of the late Francis Magalona. Jerome is the son of former Viva actor Jessie Delgado. Kiko is the son of Gary Estrada and Cheska Diaz. Donnie is the son of Maricel Laxa and Anthony Pangilinan. “Walwal is a story of growing up and it follows the stories of four friends from high school to their initial years in college,” Direk Joey says. “Ipapakita rito ang mga problemang kinakaharap ng mga kabataan ngayon in the age of social media. Mas simple ang buhay noong araw, e. Competition was less and kids don’t get depressed and commit suicide. But we show na whatever happens to them, they’re accountable for their decisions in life.”
What roles do the four young actors play? “Elmo is the obedient son, the type who follows lahat ng gusto ng mga magulang niya for him. Hilig niya is graphic arts, but his parents want him to be a lawyer kaya he’s taking up law.”
And how about Jerome? Basta nakapalda, papatulan niya. Then he gets someone pregnant after a one night stand, so nagkaproblema siya.”
And Donnie? “His dream is to be a top filmmaker who’s recognized abroad. I’m happy to get the chance to direct him in his very first movie.
He praises his four actors for their energy and enthusiasm. “They really enjoy what they’re doing. They all deliver at makikita mo ang eagerness nila to do a good job. We’re all very pleased sa trabaho nila in ‘Walwal’ that opens in theaters on June 27.”
