Although he’s turning 39 this coming September, he certainly looks much younger than his age so he can be paired with young leading ladies, like Yam Concepcion and Yen Santos in his new soap, “Halik”, which uses the popular Aegis song titled “Halik” as its theme song. This is directed by Cathy Camarillo and Carlo Po, with Ruel Bayani as business unit head.
“I love to be part of shows like ‘Halik’ which deal with marital relationships,” he says. “You can relate with the characters as they deal with issues like bakit natutukso ang isang lalaki? What sacrifices are you willling to do para sa asawa mo? How committed are you to your marriage? I play Lino Bartolome, isang artist who works as a furniture designer. I’m married to Yam Concepcion as Jade, an ambitious real estate agent, pero magkakaproblema kami when I meet si Yen Santos as Jacky, who’s married naman to Sam Milby.”
In the story, he and Yen met first when they were still very young. They fall in love but the parents of Yen are against their love affair because Echo comes from a poor family. It’s Echo who decides to distance himself from Yen, until they meet again years later. Also in the show are Amy Austria as the mom of Echo, Allan Paule as his dad, Jane de Leon as his younger sister, Hero Angeles as a gay character, Christian Bables as Echo’s friend, Romnick Sarmenta and Lara Precious Quigaman as the parents of Yen, Almira Muhlach and Cris Villanueva as the parents of Sam, with newcomers JC Alcantara and Gab Lagman as the love interest of Jane de Leon.
