KETCHUP EUSEBIO is one of the members of the Screening Committee of Star Magic’s video making contest called, Lights, Camera, Magic. At its launch, we ask him if it’s just okay with him to be the second choice in the Cinemalaya entry, “Mamang”, in the role of Celeste Legaspi’s son. The first choice was Roderick Paulate.
“Okay na okay lang po,” he says. “I’m so grateful nga na akong napili. It’s a big honor na I was considered for a role originally intended para sa isang Roderick Paulate. And I’m really happy to work with Ms. Celeste kasi she was my mentor when I first ventured into the theatre, kunsaan nakatrabaho ko rin ang director namin sa ‘Mamang’ na si Denise O’Hara. The movie is about my mom, si Ms. Celester, who has Alzheimer’s disease and is slowly losing her hold on reality. Manood kayo sa gala night namin sa CCP on August 4.”
He’s happy to be a member of the Star Magic’s Screening Committee for their videomaking contest. “17 years na ako sa industry at interesado talaga ako ever since to work behind the camera. I took a scriptwriting workshop with Bing Lao and I also worked as an assistant to Direk Cathy Molina. Yung barkada namin, dream talaga to be a director someday. Nauna na nga sina Joross Gamboa and Boy2 Quizon na pareho ngayong may dinidirek nang new movie.”
