Iza got positive reviews for her performance in the Cinemalaya entry, “Distance”, where she plays the wife of Noni Buencamino who turns out to be a lesbian. Didn’t she feel bad when she didn’t win best actress award and it was Ai Ai de las Alas who won for “School Service”? “Not at all. My role is very quiet. Wala akong emotional highlight at all kasi gusto ni Direk Perci Intalan, hindi ako nagre-react. May isa akong crying scene pero natanggal pa. So I don’t expect everyone to appreciate it. And I’m very happy for Ai Ai de las Alas. She deserves the award.”Iza is in the midst of preparations for her wedding to be held later this year to her fiance, Ben Wintle. She says it’s going to be very simple. “Tatlo lang ang principal sponsors and one of them would be Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo who’ve been good friends for a long time now,” she says. “Other than that, wala na akong maise-share. I do have a wedding coordinator to help me prepare para naman hindi ako mabaliw. Basta it will be simple.”
