James Reid That His First Movie Minus Nadine Samonte, 'Miss Granny', Is A Blockbuster Hit

JAMES REID is so happy that his movie with Sarah Geronimo, “Miss Granny”, is a bonafide box office hit and Viva gave the whole cast a victory party for its certified success. “I was really nervous at first as I’m not with my usual ka-love team in the movie (Nadine Lustre),” he says. “This is my first project without her since we became a tandem so I’m so used to having with her. But she supported me kahit wala siya and I’m also supporting her in her own solo movie, ‘Ulan’. So we’re trying something new and growing on our own as artists.”

Working with Sarah Geronimo is a dream come true for him. “I really feel so blessed to be given the chance to her and I want to thank Viva for giving me this project kahit we’re not really paired in the movie kasi lola ko siya rito. Still, I enjoyed the whole experience of working with her, including our musical numbers together that are so well applauded by the audience. She’s the Popstar Princess but she proves here that she can also do very well in both comedy and drama. She can excel in any kind of role.”

After “Miss Granny”, he’ll start shooting his true solo movie, “Pedro Penduko”, where he will play the title role no less. “I really have to prepare well for this project kasi it will require me to do a lot of action scenes. So I’m doing weight training in the gym, also weapons training and later, martial arts. I’m excited as this is a new and different genre for me so ayokong mapahiya sa Viva for the trust that they’re giving me in assigning me this project.”
