Janine Gutierrez Earns Good Feedback As Alden Richards' Leading Lady In 'Victor Magtanggol'. Is Her Rumored Boyfriend Rayver Cruz Joining The Show?

JANINE GUTIERREZ is elated over the great feedback she’s getting for her performance as Gwen Regalado, a fearless reporter who becomes Alden Richards’ love interest in “Victor Magtanggol”. Those who initially objected to her being paired with Alden have since stopped complaining because the audience really likes Janine for Alden. Will she eventually go sexy in the show? At the presscon, she wore a body hugging dress with see-through fabric and the lining is flesh colored, giving the impression that she’s nude beneath it. “When they gave me that outfit for the media launch, I had second thoughts kasi masyado ngang daring. But everyone was saying I should wear it, for a change. Siempre, uncomfortable ako kasi first time ko to wear something so daring like it. So I just closed my eyes and took the risk and I’m glad naging okay naman ang feedback sa akin that night.”

Her apprehensions about being paired with Alden have also vanished. “Before, kinakabahan talaga ako sa reaction ng Aldub fans. Ayoko talagang masaktan sila o magalit sa akin. But now, okay naman, so far. It’s an honor for me to be part of a really big project like ‘Victor Magtanggol’. We can really feel ang mainit na suporta ng loyal supporters ng GMA, mga Kapuso Brigade, mga tagahanga ni Alden na talagang napakabait sa akin. So sobrang nagpapasalamat ako, thankful na thankful po ako talaga ngayon na I’m a part of this show.”

In a recent episode of “Victor Magtanggol”, she performed her own stunt when an alien monster chased her and she nearly fell from the top floor of an abandoned building. She was shown precariously hanging for a while until Alden flew in to save her. The staff and crew praised her for being a real trouper. “It’s just part of my job,” she says. “They made sure may safety measures naman para hindi ako maaksidente.”

How about the rumor that her alleged boyfriend, Rayver Cruz, will be joining GMA-7 and might be included in the cast of “Victor Magtanggol” or another existing show? “Naku, all those are speculations. For his decisions, I think it’s better kung siya mismo ang sumagot. I cannot answer for him. Pero nakakatuwa naman kasi, so far, very positive ang reaction ng fans. May mga nag-form na nga ng love team namin. They call it JanVer. Pero siempre, hindi naman kami ang makakasagot niyan kundi ang management. So let’s just wait and see. Basta as of now, we’re just happy that patuloy na pataas nang pataas ang rating ng ‘Victor Magtanggol’ every night so huwag kayong bibitaw dahil more exciting episodes are coming up.”
