BRYAN REVILLA is happy to be back into acting in “Tres”, the action trilogy where he stars with his younger brothers, Jolo and Luigi Revilla. “Nakaka-miss din kasi my last movie pa was, ‘Resiklo’, in 2007, with my dad. That was 11 years ago na.”
He then focused on his studies and got a degree in consular and diplomatic affairs at St. Benilde and later took a 6-week course on the same subject matter at the University of Oxford in London. Then he became a much sought after speaker sharing his testimonials and the word of the Lord here and abroad.
In “Tres”, he appears in the first episode titled “Virgo”, while Jolo appears in “72 Hours” and Luigi appears in “Amats”. Bryan co-stars with Joey Marquez, Paolo Paraiso, Carla Humphries, Mon Confiado, Kiko Matos, Dido de la Paz, Basti Artadi and Phillip Salvador in a special guest appearance.
Why is the title “Virgo” and what is it all about? “Virgo is from Virgilio, the name of my character. In the story Virgo is a boy whose entire family was killed by bad guys. I am raised by my father’s best friend, Tito Joey Marquez, who is so good here I learned so much from him. I grow to be an undercover cop and my goal is to seek revenge for the death of my family. I hunt down their killers.”
The film’s trailer was shown and it’s really action packed with one big action scene after another. Bryan personally chose Richard Somes as director of “Virgo”. “I’ve seen some of his past works and I like his style in directing action films,” he adds.
Later on, Bryan wants to go into directing himself. “When my dad (Sen. Bong Revilla) first asked me to do an action film to help revive the interest of viewers in local action films, I was reluctant. Ayoko ng humarap uli sa camera, but my dad was able to convince me. I had to prepare well. From 200 lbs., I lost 50 lbs. So I’m now 150. I also took acting workshops with Direk Richard and it helped me a lot. Now, I want to try working behind the camera. I want to produce a movie I have in mind.”
With regard to his lovelife, he was linked before to Maui Taylor and to a lady doctor but he says he’s loveless at the moment. “I wants to focus on my career now. I was a rusty before we started shooting ‘Tres’, but now, I’m so excited to back in showbiz.”
