ARRA SAN AGUSTIN is one of the most promising new actresses today at the Kapuso network. Born on April 25, 1996, she’s a runner up in Starstruck 7 in 2015. A psychology major at La Salle, she’s also into ballet and figure skating.
She was initially given supporting roles in various drama shows then was made to join the cast of “Bubble Gang” where she learned to do comedy. She was later cast in “Encantadia” as Ariana. In “The Cure”, she was paired with Ken Chan and they played husband and wife. Their love team gained a lot of fans so it’s not surprising that they are now paired anew in the new soap, “My Special Tatay”, that starts airing this afternoon to replace “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka”.
“I play the role of Carol,” she says. “Mas may challenge ito kaysa sa ‘The Cure’ kasi full length na ang role ko as leading lady ni Ken. Magkaibigan kami ni Ken as Boyet since childhood and I act as his protector, parang guardian angel niya kapag may mga ibang batang nang-aapi sa kanya dahil may mild autism nga siya rito. Hindi ko alam, may secret love pala siya sa akin but hindi niya ma-express ang sarili niya.”So how is it working with Ken? “Masarap siyang katrabaho kasi hindi lang siya mabait sa kapareha niya kundi napakahusay niyang artista kaya mamo-motivate ka sa eksena.”
Ken has said that she is his crush? Does she believe this? “Oo. Kasi sinasabi naman niya sa’king crush niya ako.”
What if they get linked to each other? “Malayo pa naman ang tatakbuhin ng show, kauumpisa pa lang this Monday, so tingnan na lang natin. It depends on him naman, so huwag na lang nating pangunahan.”
