JAKE VARGAS is happy to be reunited with real life GF Inah de Belen in “Ika-5 Utos” after they did “Oh My Mama” two years ago. And he gets to work not only with Inah but with her aunt, Gelli de Belen. “When I was first informed about it, medyo kinabahan ako,” he admits. “Actually, hindi ko lang siya katrabaho kundi she plays my mother in the story so mas nakaka-pressure. Noong first taping day namin together, nagka-buckle-buckle talaga ako delivering my lines so she told me to just relax. After a while, naging comfortable din naman ako and sa ngayon, okay na okay na kami sa set.”

He plays an abusive boyfriend in “Ika-5 Utos” with Inah as his battered girlfriend. Will he ever hurt his girlfriend in real life? “No, never. Ang babae, minamahal po at hindi sinasaktan. Hindi nga ako maka-relate sa role ko rito, lalo na kapag sinasampal ko si Inah, kasi malayo sa akin sa totoong buhay. Buti na lang, napakagaling ng direktor naming si Laurice Guillen in interpreting our roles kaya naitatawid naman namin nang maayos ang mga eksena.”

He has met Inah’s mom, Janice de Belen, who we heard has approved of him for Inah. But has he met Inah’s dad, John Estrada, who’s now also a Kapuso as part of “Victor Magtanggol”? “Yes, we met sa anniversary party ng GMA. Ipinakilala ako ni Inah sa kanya and we shook our hands. Then naging guest namin siya sa ‘Pepito Manaloto’ at biniro pa niya ako, he said ang nipis, ang payat ko raw. Okay naman kami.”
