KATRINA HALILI gives a touching performance in the ToFarm Filmfest entry, “Mga Anak ng Kamote”. She’s completely deglamorized, not wearing any makeup, as a kamote farmer missing for her missing husband, Alex Medina. She really does well in drama, even as a kontrabida in soaps like in her role as Isabelle in “The Stepdaughters” which has been extended anew until October.
Katrina is really so busy as she’s also featured as the special guest star in today’s episode of Eugene Domingo’s weekend treat, “Dear Uge”, entitled “Basta Dubber Sweet Lover”. She plays Gloria, a voice talent who is married to Neil Ryan Sese as Deo, also a dubber like her. Their neighbors are used to hearing them fighting everyday over the most trivial things, but more so when Katrina is jealous and suspects that her husband is having an affair with newcomer Jenzel Angeles as Stacy.
But Neil’s younger cousin, Jay Arcilla as Randy, moves in with them with his deaf young wife, Therese Malvar as Mariel. The younger couple is very sweet to each other. Will their sweetness rub off on Katrina and Neil or is their marriage still bound to crumble and end in separation? Don’t miss “Dear Uge” after “Sunday Pinasaya”.
Meantime, Katrina will be going to the annual Penafrancia Festival in Naga City tomorrow along with her co-stars in “The Stepdaughters”, Megan Young and Mikael Daez. They’ll thank all their fans who’ve been supporting “The Stepdaughters” for the past 8 months with a Kapuso Mall Show at SM City Naga at 4 PM. They will be joined by the lead stars of the hit Afternoon Prime show, “My Special Tatay”, Ken Chan and Arra San Agustin.
Oliver Amoroso,VP & Head of GMA’s Regional TV Department says: ““We are happy that we continue to be part of Naga’s Peñafrancia Festival and this year, we are proud to the bring lead stars of high-rating afternoon drama series The Stepdaughters and My Special Tatay. We know that our Kapusong Bicolanos are excited to see Megan, Katrina, Mikael, Ken, and Arra in our Kapuso Mall Show, the same way that our Kapuso stars are looking forward to meet their fans,” he adds.
