LUIGI REVILLA first joined showbiz in 2010 as a Kapuso actor in the Kris Bernal soap, “Koreana”. He did other shows after that like “Magic Palayok” and “Once Upon a Kiss”, but he seems like he’s not that serious with acting. “Nag-usap kasi kami ng father ko (Sen. Bong Revilla) and he told me tapusin ko muna ang college,” he says at the solo presscon held by their family’s Imus Productions for the action trilogy, “Tres”, that stars him and his two older brothers, Bryan and Jolo. “Nahihirapan kasi ako noong pagsabayin ang showbiz at studies. So ayun, I prioritized my studies muna and I got an entrepeneurship degree from Enderun College. Now, my dad wants to help revive action films and so my brothers and I join forces to come up with a quality movie offering three different kinds of action stories.”
He stars in the second episode entitled “Amats”. “Amats is actually the Tagalog word ‘tama’ na binaligtad. It can mean different things, like when you say may amats or tama ako sa’yo. Or ang lakas ng amats mo, meaning, you’re under the influence of drugs.”
What’s his role? “I play Lui, a young man who was devasted when his parents died. He feels lost and he meets Assunta de Rossi, an older woman. They become lovers and she introduces Lui to the world of drugs. Kasama namin dito si Sandino Martin as Ms. Assunta’s former lover na, siempre, galit sa akin. Leading lady ko si Myrtle Sarossa na siyang nagpabago ng takbo ng buhay ko. Father niya si Lito Pimentel na ayaw sa’kin. Mga kalaban ko rito sina Markus Paterson and Markki Stroem.”
So which is the best episode, his or that of this brothers? “Lahat ng episodes namin, maganda, and we’re really proud of them. Ang difference, mas marami silang scenes ng pasabugan at barilan. Yung sa akin, we capitalize more on martial arts kasi I’m a black belter, so mas maraming scenes dito ng muay thai and boxing. I did all my action scenes, no double. One time, nabuntal ako ng stuntman sa mukha and I thought nabali talaga ang ilong ko. Another time naman, nasipa ko si Markki Stroem sa mukha and he fell. Akala namin, acting lang, but it turned out he really got hurt. Na-loosen yung isang tooth niya and the next day, natanggal na. We rehearsed our movements naman, kaya lang aksidente talaga ang nangyari. Sorry ako nang sorry, but he’s a real trouper. Sabi niya, okay lang, at tinuloy pa rin ang pag-shoot ng eksena.”
Luigi is so talented in that he also sings and writes his own songs. He’s so thankful that his father’s family warmly embraced him. “Never kong na-feel that they treated me like I’m anak sa labas. Una ko silang na-meet sa wake ng Lola Azucena namin where they welcomed me, then sa Boracay and after that, they’d invite me sa bahay nila in Alabang every Sunday. I’m so thankful na pati si Tita Lani (Mercado), napakabait sa akin. Friends na rin sila ng mom ko, and also my wife.”
Luigi got married to Katrina Gama in December 2016 and his best man was his Kuya Bryan while his Kuya Jolo was a secondary sponsor. All their sisters were bridesmaids. That only goes to show how close he really is to his siblings.
