“I said, seriously? Makakasama ko sina Nora Aunor and Cherie Gil, directed by Gina Alajar?” she exclaims. “Puro mga respetadong aktres sa industriya. It’s a very big honor to be working with them. And I’m sure it will be a great experience din kasi marami akong matutuhan from them. Starstruck nga ako sa kanila noong una. Ang feeling ko, parang surreal, my gosh, nangyayari ba talaga ito? Totoo bang katrabaho ko sila? May takot ako kasi first heavy drama ko ito at baka magkamali ako, nakakahiya. But they’re all nice and accommodating kaya nawala rin agad ang nerbiyos ko na makasama sila. Nagtutulong-tulong kami talagang mapaganda ang show kasi ang taas ng rating nung pinalitan namin (‘Kambal Karibal’) at tuwang-tuwa kaming lahat dahil naging mataas din agad ang rating ng show namin.”
Her role as Maila is very dramatic. “Yes, kasi wala pong love para sa’kin ang nanay naming si Jo Berry as Onay, kasi naging anak niya ako after ma-rape siya. Mas favorite niya si Kate Valdez as Natalie na anak niya kay Adrian Alandy. Ang naging kakampi ko rito, ang superstar, si Ate Guy, na lola ko. Ipinagtatanggol niya ako kapag lagi akong pinagagalitan ng nanay ko.”
Cherie Gil got to re-enact with her that iconic scene from "Bituing Walang Ningning" where she splashes wine on the face of Sharon Cuneta, saying: "You're nothing but a second rate trying hard copycat." "I was so scared when we shot that scene," Mikee confesses. "Iba ang naging atake ni Ms. Cherie sa eksena but you can really feel yung bigat ng emotions because of her intensity. Because of that, I've learned to admire Ms. Cherie all the more."
Later on in "Onanay", she and her sister Kate Valdez will be rivals over the attention of one guy, Enrico Cuenca as their classmate Oliver. “Marami pa pong magagandang conflicts and developments sa story so don’t forget to watch ‘Onanay’ every night, right after ‘Victor Magtanggol’,” she says.
