SAM CONCEPCION played just a cameo role in the hit “Miss Granny” as the young version of Boboy Garovillo. He’s glad that he now plays a full length lead role in Viva’s latest offering, “Para sa Hopeless Romantic”. He plays the guy who gets torn between Yassi Pressman and Louise de los Reyes.
In real life, he has also just broken up with Kiana Valenciano, the daughter of Gary V., but he quickly dismisses the rumor that there’s a third party involved on his part that caused their break up. “Wala, walang third party at all,” he says.
So what’s the reason they split? “We can’t pinpoint just one specific reason as there are many factors involved on why it didn’t work out. As of now, we’re just hoping for the best. Right now, I’m just happy with my work. I’m taking things one day at a time. We’re still healing kasi matagal-tagal din kami. Mahirap, but we carry on.”
He’s also friends with Kiana’s parents and brothers. How are they now? “Well, I’m hoping okay naman kami. They’re such good people and their family has always been kind and friendly to me. So I hope hindi yun magbago kahit wala na kami ni Kiana.”Since he’s nursing a broken heart, the title of his new movie, “Para sa Broken Hearted”, seems like perfect for his situation now. “Oh yes, it’s a case of art imitating life. But I’m really glad to be part of this movie kasi young people can surely relate sa romantic situations portrayed sa characters dito. I enjoyed working with all my co-stars, lalo na sina Yassi and Louise na siyang kasama ko sa story namin. Our director, Digo Ricio, is a first timer but he’s very good. Marami siyang magagandang ideas to make the film very entertaining from start to finish.”
