TWO GMA SHOWS are ending this weekend. First is the hit afternoon soap, “The Stepdaughters”, which will have its final telecast today after a successful run of nine months. And this Sunday, “The Clash” will have its finals and let’s see who will be the grand winner among the remaining clashers. This will be replaced by the sitcom “Daddy’s Girl” starring Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza, and the musical variety show “Studio 7” topbilled by top Kapuso singing stars.
But naturally, the cast of “The Stepdaughters” have separation anxiety now that their show is ending. “I will surely miss ang stepsister ko ritong si Megan Young,” says Katrina Halili who plays the villain, Isabelle. “Kahit lagi kaming nag-aaway sa show, off camera, ang saya ng samahan namin sa set, pati si Mikael Daez. Nag-enjoy akong katrabaho sila.”
So what does she intend to do after the show? “Rest muna ako. Gusto ko munang makasama nang matagal-tagal ang anak kong si Katie. Bakasyon muna kami para mas dumalas ang bonding naming mag-ina before I start doing another show.”
How about Megan and Mikael, what are their plans after the show ends? “Balak naming bumisita sa Iceland,” says Mikael. “We’ve got a lot of friends na nakapunta na roon at maganda raw talaga, so it’s a dream destination for us.”
So is that where he will officially propose to Megan? “Malay natin,” he laughs. “Pero sa ganda ng lugar, ideal na pamproposal talaga siya. After all, eight years na rin kami together this September. We’ll see. Alam mo naman, sa buhay, walang kasiguraduhan but anything is possible. Meantime, basta huwag kayong bibitaw dahil tiyak na masisiyahan kayo sa finale episode ng ‘The Stepdaughters’ na pasabog talaga. Maraming twists after si Megan as Mayumi ang masisi sa pagkamatay ni Edgar Allan Guzman as Froilan. Si Katrina is shocked to find out na buhay pa pala ang mother ni Mayumi na si Glydel Mercado, na akala niya’y napatay na niya. Hindi pa rin siya titigil hangga’t hindi niya napapabagsak si Mayumi.”
