Alwyn Uytingco Plays A Bicolano God Called 'Asuang' Who Is Asked To Help Save The World From Destruction

ALWYN UYTINGCO was just seen giving support as Daniel Padilla’s best friend in the hit “The Hows of Us”. Now, he’s the lead star and plays no less than the title role in the Cinema One entry, “Asuang”, a fantasy-comedy where she plays a character named Asuang, a mythological god in Bicol. He co-stars with Chai Fonacier in the film written and directed by Raynier Brizuela.

“Asuang is not yung aswang na napapanood in horror films,” says Alwyn. “Naiiba siya. Comedy nga ito kasi gumagamit pa siya ng social media. We shot the film on location sa Albay in Bicol at nag-enjoy ako nang husto kasi marami akong nabuong friendship doon kaya hindi madaling kalimutan itong project na ito.”

Alwyn has done a lot of comedies before, including “Beki Boxer” with TV5, so he’s glad to do comedy again in “Asuang”. “Ibang type ng comedy ang pinapakita rito. Mahirap gumawa ng comedy but it’s actually my favorite genre kasi nage-enjoy rin ako at the same time while doing it. Dito, may seers na humingi ng tulong sa akin kasi malapit nang matapos ang mundo and they ask my help to stop it. Lahat kami ng mga kasama ko, sobrang nag-enjoy doing this and I know moviegoers will also enjoy when they watch it. Sana po, panoorin nyo lahat ng entries na naka-line up sa Cinema One Originals dahil piling-pili ang bawat kuwento at naiiba talaga sa usual na napapanood nyo sa mainstream cinema.”

Alwyn has been happily married to Jennica Garcia (daughter of Jean Garcia) since February 12, 2014
and they now have two daughters. The first, Athena Mori, is now 3 years old. The second one was born last June 26.
